I HAVE I HAVE WHAT YOU DON'T HAVE (10 years and up)

Try-out February 2025

I HAVE WHAT YOU DON'T HAVE (10+)

A playful performance for young people bursting with Gucci, Prada and lots of junk! A mosaic performance from dance, video and live music, about 'have-have-have' and the shame of not having something.

How rich do you have to be to stop needing others? And what is the purchase price of love? How much VAT is there on humanity? Tegest was born in Ethiopia. When she was 5 years old, she was adopted along with her sister. She grew up in our affluent part of the world. For her, what is the value of money and property? Woody Veneman is a successful musician who grew up in an underprivileged neighbourhood in Eindhoven. For him, music was his biggest capital.

In IK HEB I HAVE WHAT YOU DON'T HAVE, theatre-maker Lenneke Maas explores the need for money and property together with dancer Tegest Pecht Guido and musician Woody Veneman. Lenneke sat down with five young people who, although from completely different backgrounds, are all on a debt restructuring programme. Together, they explore the pain of not having something you should have. Something you need to belong, to participate, to be equal. They share the amazement of how 'making a lot of money' is held in higher esteem than 'doing something for nothing'. The envy of too little, the indifference of too much. The golden handshake and the food bank.

With special thanks to Mark de Weijer, the young people from Youth Perspective Fund Eindhoven and the children from Wildpark

The performance can be booked via Buro Bannink and Culture station
